Proud Camden welcomes you on a ‘journey through time and space’ - an entreaty to the world of The Mighty Boosh. That fantastic series of surreal BBC comedy is now chronicled by a photographic exhibition - Behind The Boosh – from cast member Dave Brown. Abigail Parkin (20 Oct’13)

Who can forget Bollo the gorilla as played by Dave Brown? Or Noel Fielding’s manic Hitcher. Or, indeed, Red Carpet favourite, Old Gregg – a deranged sea hermaphrodite and victim of unrequited love. These were just a few of the zany characters that emerged from the series and Dave Brown now presents unique photographs of his fellow cast members since day one of The Boosh.

The Boosh evolved from three stage shows which were taken to the Edinburgh Fringe and then the concept  became a radio series for the BBC before hitting our TV screens in 2004. Their whimsical, childlike world found favour with legions of Boosh fans and Brown’s photographs portray behind-the-scenes and series images of one of Britain’s best loved British comedies.

Dave Brown’s own talent spans design, writing, choreography and directing. In The Mighty Boosh his role of Bollo the ape was symbolised by the refrain ‘I’ve got a bad feeling about this.’ Originally from Southend in Essex, Brown attended Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College where he met fellow cast member Noel Fielding who plays Vince Noir.

The Mighty Boosh team has just performed at Jack Black’s US festival, Festival Supreme, comedy festival dubbed the ‘Coachella of comedy.’
