Bonnie May Events Launches

For those of us who have wandered backstage at big music events over the years, chances are that we enjoyed a Bonnie May lunch. Now Bonnie has launched her new venture enterprise, Bonnie May Events, seasoned with more than 25 years’ experience. Sat Bal (22 Jan’15)

Bonnie May and her team have fed many of the biggest names in show business and catered major functions around the world including royal weddings and the Olympic Games.

The new company gives clients direct access to Bonnie’s extensive knowledge and creativity through her celebrations specialism, which focuses on creating world-class weddings, parties and corporate events.

Speaking at the official launch of Bonnie May Events at The Berkeley Gallery in Berkhamsted last night, Bonnie (pictured) told guests: “Being backstage is where I am most happy, being onstage is completely out of my comfort zone. I guess it is fair to say that this ‘seen and not heard’ approach to delivering events over the last 26 years has served me well, I have pretty much successfully managed to cover almost every corner of the globe without having to shout about it too much.”

Past working locations include Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street and birthdays for names such as Nelson Mandela, touring with the late Frank Sinatra and serving Christmas dinner to Brian May.

She said: “So, being in the very fortunate position that I am, and with a wealth of creative and event know-how, the next phase of my career has not been as tricky as I thought to plan – transferring what I have done on a global platform to something a little more local. It’s exactly the move I wanted, and with a little help from a few local – now – friends, Bonnie May Events was born.”

She will, however, continue in her role as global operations director of award-winning Chesham-based Global Infusion Group (GIG) which provides specialist backstage catering and logistics services to the music, entertainment, film and TV industries and corporate functions.

GIG has established international offices in California, United States; Qatar, Middle East; Shanghai, China and is opening a branch in Brazil to service the South American market.

“As a new business targeting largely regional events, I feel it is important to tap into the fantastic depth of local talent to support this exciting new initiative,” she added. “We will take all the hassle away and help you find the perfect venue, design your invitations and arrange theming, table designs and entertainment.  Your personal chef will create stunning menus with memorable drinks – everything you need for the perfect event.”
