Happy birthday Rimmel…

Last night saw models and musicians lead the charge for the big Rimmel party which celebrated '180 years of Cool'. The event marked Rimmel's imminent 180th anniversary and gave London a colourful Thursday night makeover . Sam Hetti breaks down the party. (11 Oct’13)

The party reflected Rimmel’s stylish history, present and future with the fashion pack led by  Rimmel ambassadors Kate Moss and Georgia May Jagger. Both arrived London-style in Rimmel-branded black cabs, as pictured below.

The London Film Museum in Covent Garden hosted the bash, lying close to the Strand where the first Rimmel HQ took up office back in 1860.

This set the tone for Rimmel’s 180-year history which was vividly brought to life by a  fashion show with 18 models portraying 18 iconic looks from 1834 to 2014. Rimmel’s international make-up artist, Kirstin Piggott captured the eye-catching essence of each era and when the final model took her place on stage the audience saw a living chronology of Rimmel’s and London’s rich history.

  The London look delivered...

Rita Ora delivered a surprise performance of her Shine ya light, Hey Ya and RIP to thrilled revellers. The singer-songwriter also too her place as the 18th model in the fashion show and  is the latest style icon to collaborate with Rimmel with her exclusive capsule colour collection set for launched in March 2014. Kate Moss’s mate DJ Fat Tony hit the decks to keep the party pumping late into the night.
