Harper’s Bazaar ends Fashion Week

The end of London Fashion Week took a stylish turn at the Harper’s Bazaar party on Tuesday night, hosted by the exclusive Mark’s Club. Abigail Parkin (20 Feb ’13)

Justine Picardie, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar UK and Glenda Bailey, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar US, led the exclusive cocktail party which brought together fashion designers including Christopher Kane, Roksanda Ilinic, Alice Temperley, Charlotte Dellal and Stephen Jones.

Who was there?

Sir Philip Green arrived with Daisy Lowe and Yasmin Le Bon (headline picture) who wore a vintage black Gucci dress, a striking Roberto Cavalli jacket paired with classic Chanel clutch and black pointed Milano heels. Mischa Barton (pictured above) rolled in much later wearing a vintage Yamamoto silk jumpsuit and a Chanel necklace. Other guests included Lulu Guinness, Daphne Guinness, Laura Whitmore, Elizabeth McGovern, Sarah Ann Macklin and Lara Bohinc.

What they said:

An elegant Thandie Newton (pictured) wore a fitted black Vivienne Westwood suit, paired with sparkly gold Stella McCartney heels. “My husband has impeccable fashion taste and I always consult him before going anywhere, I chose this and got the thumbs-up from him!”

She told us how this was her “only Fashion Week event as all of my efforts go into the BAFTAs, although I love to keep up-to-date, by following all the shows and gossip online.” Back from filming in Nigeria she said “we were the first big motion picture to be filmed in Nigeria. It was fantastic and I think it will be a hot spot for filming in five years’ time”

Tom Parker Bowles amused the cloakroom asking for his “tatty old tweed that I tend the horses with.”
