Jack Daniel’s Goes Bespoke

September marks the birthday of Jack Daniel’s and the whisky giant is celebrating with The Single Barrel Standard: a new opportunity to acquire a barrel of around 250 bottles at £13,500. Hannah Charlesworth (15 Sep’14)

The whisky connoisseurs who buy Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel will receive a one-on-one tasting of different barrels to find their own perfect, tailored whisky with notes ranging from sweet caramel  to toasted oak. Only a select few barrels get the Single Barrel status that meets the Single Barrel Standard.

Depending on the yield of the barrel, the Single Barrel Standard offers anywhere between 240 to 260 bottles of the one-of-a-kind whiskey. The Standard also includes the delivery of the empty barrel, arriving sanded, varnished and personalised.

The price tag is around £13,500, depending on the yield, and buyers will be recognised with a plaque and entry into the Jack Daniel’s distillery’s Wall of Fame.
