Luxury yacht Nirvana sets course for Dubai

The Dubai International Boat Show prepares for its showing next month and one of the stars of the show will be Nirvana, the largest yacht on display at the event. Chris Page (27 Feb’14)

Leading yacht sector specialist Edmiston will exhibit Nirvana reportedly the world’s most expensive yacht at the time of writing. Here’s some insight into what 230 million euros buys…

Lavish spacious interiors designed by Sam Sorgiovanni are connected by a main stairwell and an impressive six-person glass lift. The interiors have been crafted using premium materials including eucalyptus wood, teak and white onyx taking the tropical rainforest as the central theme.

Few floating unwind spaces rival this one whether you’re throwing a party or cruising into Cannes for the film festival. A stage for live performances is part of the entertainment offering and a disco lounge with smoke machines and laser lighting. A jet pool floor rises to create a huge party space as the floor of the pool rises to create an entertainment deck.

Relaxing with a few friends and a good film? The 3D cinema has dedicated surround sound as well as a HD projector, bar and, naturally, a popcorn machine. A library of 3,600 films should keep the most avid cinema buff happy.

Nirvana launched in 2012 and has a range of 6,800 nautical miles with a maximum speed of 19.5 knots and can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins. The yacht has 27 crew members to take care of guests' requirements and whims.

Nirvana also carries high-end sports equipment, diving equipment, jetski and tenders onboard. The vessel's huge fuel, water and food reserves allows it to glide the Pacific and cruise the globe with serene ease.

“The Dubai International Boat show has been running for 22 years and we are delighted that this year we are exhibiting the impressive Nirvana," said chairman of Edmiston, Nicholas Edmiston. "She is the ultimate status symbol for millionaires around the world who want world-class standards at sea with the best possible comfort.”

Edmiston will be at the Dubai International Marine Club over the five days of the show with representatives from the company on hand to discuss future charter or sale opportunities.

The award-winning Dubai International Boat Show has enthralled its global audience for some 22 years with innovation and in luxury and lifestyle. Over 840 leading exhibitors from 50 countries are invited to display their brands to the rapidly growing market of Middle East marine investors and enthusiasts.
