Scilly Isles Cottage Investment

International real estate advisor Savills has brought to market Carnwethers Country House on St. Mary’s Island in the Isles of Scilly for a guide price of £1.3 million. Kelly Valla (29 Oct’14)

The investment includes the former farmhouse, four self-contained holiday cottages and an outdoor heated pool set in one acre (0.4 hectares) of mature gardens with fruit trees, a barbeque area and croquet lawn.  The main property has five bedrooms and the smaller cottages offer one or two bedrooms.

Martin Rogers, director of hotels, leisure and trading at Savills, commented: "This is a fantastic opportunity to invest in an established freehold business close to the beautiful Pelistry Bay. A range of outbuildings on the site are also suitable for development, subject to planning, providing scope to significantly enhance the long term income.”

St. Mary’s Island, the largest of the Scilly Isles, is connected to the mainland via the Scillonion Ferry from Penzance and the Skybus from Exeter, Newquay and Land’s End.  The majority of the island outside the capital of Hugh Town is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.
