Vertu Constellation phone launch

Luxury phone leader Vertu celebrated the launch of its latest handset, the new Constellation. The new device took centre stage last night at the launch party in London. Sam Hetti (3 Oct'13)

Guests assembled amid the splendour of launch venue One Mayfair. The venue theming reflected a fantasy landscape echoing the English countryside consistent with Vertu’s new advertising campaign shot by renowned photographer Kristian Schuller.

Vertu’s hold on the luxury mobile phone market began with its iconic ‘Signature’ phone in 2002. Despite competition from larger brands it has maintained its synonymous-with-luxury status. It’s also maintained its English credentials with each phone is handmade in a state-of-the-art facility in Hampshire.

Goldfrapp got the party entertainment going with numbers that included tracks from their recently released album, Tales of Us. Guests included Dylan Jones, Caroline Rush, Tony Chambers, Emma McQuiston, Nicholas Coleridge and Melissa Odabash. The event was organised by Inca Productions who wowed the audience with its English landscape theme. Inca worked with NMA and Vertu.

The night was hosted by Vertu CEO, Massimiliano Pogliani, who commented: “We are delighted to showcase the new Constellation at this global launch in London, the first in a series of launch events that will take place around the world over the coming weeks. This is a period of positive transformation for the company. Vertu is on an incredible journey that sees us build on our heritage while fundamentally reshaping the brand for future growth.”

The Costellation will set you back £4,200; each phone signed by the craftsman that created it, for that extra touch of individuality. Available from around 500 stores, including 70 Vertu Boutiques, in 66 countries.
